It looks like the upcoming Portland Fashion Week event next month (October 5-9) ill witness the debut of two, very important collections for the ecofashion world. Designers Seth Aron Henderson and Anna Cohen will be using the venue to launch their latest sustainable apparel lines.

If you are a fan of Project Runway, Lifetime’s Emmy-winning fashion design show, then Seth Aron needs no further presentation. Seth Aaron is the winner of the seventh season and the head casting judge, filling in for Tim Gunn, for the show’s 9th season.

The designer was voted MY T.V. 2010′s “Best male reality star.” In 2011 he launched a collection of iPad accessory cases, together with Maroo.

Currently, he is working on his new fall/ winter 2012 collection and is also doing commentary for Lifetime, E network and Style.

“Fashion is a statement about who we are,” said Seth Aron. “If what we wear is both fashionable and sustainable, we are making a statement that we care about ourselves and the world in which we live. If it is affordable, why would we not make that choice?”

As for Anna Cohen, she has been featured in Vogue, ELLE France, and WWD. She will bring The Imperial Knits Collection to Portland, a result of her collaboration with Imperial Yarn and Iberdrola Renewables.

“The ability to make a sustainable choice is a beautiful empowering process,” said Cohen.

But Cohen and Imperial Yarn will also partner with EARTHTEC at Portland Fashion Week. The collaboration will bring together hand felted wool from Oregon’s Imperial Stock Ranch, EARTHTEC’s innovative fabrics made from recycled bottles and Cohen’s design.

“EARTHTEC produces clothing with a conscience," said Dennis Randall, EARTHTEC CEO. “With sustainable EARTHTEC apparel, we are not only providing consumers with affordable and sustainable clothing for their active lifestyle, we are making an investment in ourselves and in the health of our planet.”
