New options for mobile operators to create new applications

Nokia has already considered the next step and has now, with its new SDK (Software Development Kit) release, created new horizons for network operators to conquer. The Java Location API, Web Kit Open Source Browser and the Adobe Flash Lite 3.0 support, all being available for download here, represent the reason why application developers can now step to the next level and develop exciting, new services for all users around the world.

Each of the earlier mentioned developments have their own definite purpose and improve a certain mobile technology that users are not very pleased with. The Nokia Web Kit Open Source browser was developed for a better Web look and a more pleasant surfing feeling, the Java Location for advanced for a better and easier navigation, plus the location-aware services, while the Adobe Flash Lite 3.0 for improved graphical quality on mobile devices.

Aage Snorgaard, vice president at Nokia's Series 40 Software stated the following: "The advanced capabilities of these new Series 40 6th Edition devices will enable service providers to deliver the latest applications and content available to the broadest possible mobile subscriber base. [...] Mobile application developers will find operators are increasingly eager to include their cutting-edge software and service offerings on Nokia high-volume Series 40 devices in markets worldwide."

On the other hand, Tom Libretto, vice president Forum Nokia, had a slightly different approach in his declaration, which was as follows: "Nokia is very pleased to release our Series 40 6th Edition SDK, enabling developers to create a broad range of exciting new software and services focused on the dynamic mobile consumer market worldwide. [...] This latest SDK helps third-party developers to build richer multimedia applications and deliver advanced mobile services to the broad base of mobile subscribers served by Nokia Series 40 high-volume devices around the world."

Creating and improving all these new supported platforms for Nokia users is part of the strategy, showing that the company is very keen on offering the latest in mobile technology, services and applications on a vast number of different handsets and devices.
