The tech helps improve your gaming performance

SteelSeries is a Danish manufacturer of gaming peripherals and accessories which mostly deals in headsets, keyboards, mice, and gaming surfaces.

It wanted CES 2015 to be different from the norm, however, so it created a new type of device, one that would supplement your gaming skills, and everything else you do on a computer really.

Called the Sentry eye-tracker, the device does a bit more than track the eyes. It also highlights the spots on the screen that you are looking at at any given moment.

The device looks like a thin black strip and is meant to be placed on the bottom edge of the monitor. It tracks your eyes at 50 frames per second and will place a highlighting overlap or picture-in-picture inlay window within a stream, if you happen to be live-streaming your gameplay session.

Even if you're not streaming, however, you can use the device to add the overlay to a recording of a game session, so you can check it later and figure out how to play better.

Clearly, this is a gaming-related device, since the company is a maker of gaming peripherals, but it should have applications in other things as well. You just have to find them.

The SteelSeries Sentry eye-tracker has a price of €199 / $235 and should already be up for sale.
