Tending to a garden is often considered one of the most fulfilling recreational activities. However, gardening can be quite a challenge, especially for those people living in small apartments located in dense urban areas.

Gifted architects work in favor of nature fans, highlighting the close connection between humans and their potted friends even in tiny living spaces, with limited possibilities.

One of the most creative concepts ever designed to bring some shades of green into our lives is the Senescent desk, revolutionizing the furniture market and proving that the surrounding objects in our household can do much more than collect dust.

The Senescent desk, conceived and implemented by Love Hulten, a designer from Sweden, is a portable mini garden. It represents the area where we place our laptops, sign paperwork, but also the surface occupied by living plants.

The whole innovative system depends on a water tank, two fans and a sustainable growth substrate material made using recycled plastic, with a low carbon footprint.

Due to advanced technology, plants can tweet to quench their thirst. People can now take longer vacations thanks to the self-watering planter. All these concepts make plants depend less on humans, but the desk takes this current to a whole other level. Despite all these benefits, the eco furniture will not be commercialized in the near future.

It only counts as a powerful example and a major source of inspiration, reflecting how even the dullest modern offices can become more beautiful and make people feel less stressed and more connected with nature.

This path is not praised only by eco-conscious people. Studies have indicated that the performance of employees working in offices embellished using plants and art is up to 15% higher than the one displayed by people who are forced to spend time daily in less friendly spaces.

The creative artist is working on two other amazing concepts, involving the usage of sustainable materials: Clair de Lune, a floor lamp, and Wood Eye, a vintage-looking camera.
