14 DAY TRIAL // The rumor that Selena Gomez fell pregnant with Justin Bieber's baby back in 2012 was started by the tabloid InTouch, which claims to have gotten the news from an insider. According to this report, Selena was pregnant with Justin in 2012, when she was just 19 years old.
It seems that Selena was happy when she found out and she decided to keep the baby, since she saw his pregnancy as a sign she and Bieber were meant to be together forever. The problem was that just weeks after she found out that she was going to be a mother, she miscarried the baby.
The source claims that this miscarriage sent her on a “downward spiral” that culminated with her stay in rehab two years later. This rehab stay they're referring to happened earlier in the year and was attributed to fatigue and alcohol abuse.
“She wanted that baby. She was convinced it was meant to be and that it was a sign that she and Justin should be together forever,” said the insider, adding that Bieber's “team felt it would ruin his career because at the time he had a clean image.”
Since the report came out, several media outlets have slammed this miscarriage as a fake rumor, citing a representative for the singer who claimed that it was “100 percent fictional.” Also, her time spent in rehab was put down to fatigue mostly. A source close to Selena said “She has been working nonstop for six years. She needs to take some time for herself.”
A lot of things have happened since 2012, Selena and Justin have gone through one more reunion and breakup earlier this year, when they briefly started things up again, much to the excitement of their fans. Photos showed them spending time together out in the town but both in the studio, hinting towards a possible collaboration.
Sadly for Selena, those days seem long past as at the moment Justin is careful to show his face around town with other ladies, hoping to make Selena jealous. In turn, Selena is making sure she's spotted with all desirable bachelors she can get her hands on. She's been linked so far with One Direction's Niall Horan and Orlando Bloom.
This isn't the first time we get a Selena Gomez pregnancy rumor. A couple of months ago, a sonogram with her name of it popped up in the media and the internet went crazy speculating the Selena was having Justin's baby. It turned out to be a fake sonogram and the rumor died out.
