14 DAY TRIAL // Selena Gomez is making some drastic changes in her life but, contrary to reports of earlier this week, they have nothing to do with supposed feuds or ultimatums. Instead, the pop star and actress is removing from her life all traces of friends she considers “toxic,” it has emerged.
That includes the Jenner sisters Kendall and Kylie, with whom she was photographed just a couple of weeks ago, partying it up at the Coachella Music Festival (as the photo above can confirm), former BFF Taylor Swift, and on-and-off beau Justin Bieber.
Selena has recently removed all of them from her Twitter and Instagram accounts by unfollowing them and, in the case of the Jenner girls, she’s also deleted all photos from Coachella.
Initially, tabs and fans assumed that they had some sort of falling out, perhaps on account of one of the Jenners making out with Justin Bieber, who was also at Coachella for a surprise appearance and a few hours of fun at the concerts.
TMZ says that there was no falling out – but there was an epiphany. “The singer had an epiphany after Coachella last week – where she was surrounded by booze and drugs while hanging with the Jenner girls, Justin Bieber and all the hangers-on that come with them,” the report notes.
So, the moment she got back home from the festival, she went on a “friends cleanse,” distancing herself from the same people she’d just partied with because she realized they could lead her down the path of temptations and destruction she’s already been down on once.
“Selena's sick of that scene – so she's decided to cut out what she considers the biggest sources of negativity... Jenner girls included. We're told Selena is determined to stay on the straight and narrow, focusing on music and, get this... going to church almost daily,” TMZ adds.
Earlier this year, Selena checked herself into rehab because her partying (and pot and alcohol consumption) had gotten out of control and she wanted to get back on the straight path before it was too late. She didn’t complete her 30-day program because of her work schedule, which required her to be at the Sundance Film Festival, but she’s said to be determined to live a clean life from now on.
However, hooking up over and over again with Justin, whom she apparently can’t quit no matter how hard she tries, probably didn’t help things. Hence, the “cleanse.”
