14 DAY TRIAL // There have been several rumors about the fact that Selena Gomez, the goody-two-shoes girl presented to the media, is in fact suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. There has been talk of molly addiction and heavy drinking, something that has even put off ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
Today, there is a new report about Selena's issues with alcohol as Radar reports insiders saw the pop star drunk at an Academy Awards after-party, together with BFF Vanessa Hudgens. The insiders claim they saw the “Come and Get It” singer boozing it up and stumbling around the event in her heels by the end of the night.
“Selena was drinking constantly throughout the entire party when I saw her,” one insider reports, as she was spotted enjoying champagne and other alcoholic cocktails throughout the entire night and then goofing off with Hudgens, taking lots of pictures.
“She was having a grand old time and towards the tail end she was stumbling in her heels and almost toppled right over!” claims another insider who thinks that Selena also drank vodka and gin apart from her champagne glasses.
Needless to say, all that drinking finally caught up with her, and by the end of the night she even had difficulties in talking. The source describes her by saying that “She wasn’t slurring too bad, but was definitely in the happy-sleepy stage.”
This is worrying news, because in February, one of Gomez' representatives acknowledged that the young singer did a brief stint at a rehab facility in Arizona, of her own accord, but denied that it was for substance abuse.
Later, it was revealed that she only completed two-weeks from the program and left early the facility which focuses on helping teens deal with abuse issues. It would have beneficial for her to complete the full six weeks, but she used the excuse of promoting her newest movie to jet off to the Sundance Film Festival, where she was seen partying at various events.
This was right after Selena had canceled the last legs of her world tour, the Asian and Australian part, citing personal reasons, which a lot of people thought it meant she was exhausted.
It turned out she wasn't exhausted from all the work, but from all that heavy partying. And now she hasn't given up her partying ways by the looks of things, as she keeps sparking reunion rumors with an equally troubled Justin Bieber, who is known to have a marijuana and Sizzurp (a cough syrup-based drink, heavy in codeine) addiction.
