Before she made the announcement, pop singer Selena Gomez was busy promoting her “Stars Dance Tour” which started in Vancouver back in August. Now Gomez announced that she would be canceling the rest of the Asian and Australian shows in order to take some time off.

The Australian leg of her tour was supposed to be making five stops in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, but now none of the concerts is going to take place.

In a statement released for the press, the teen star explained “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” the “Come and Get It" singer said in a statement. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.”

Before setting upon her very first tour, Selena told in an interview that she didn't see the “Stars Dance Tour” as just a simple tour but as “a giant rave” from which her fans would leave “exhausted.”

A source close to Selena told People Magazine that there's nothing wrong with the singer “Selena is fine, she's in a great space. She's looking forward to spending the holidays with her family,” but also adds that “She's been working nonstop since she was 15 and wants to take a minute to herself.”
