Well, well, well, what do we have here today? Some interesting rumors are emerging out of China this week, but before we tell you anything, we'll have to advise you to take what follows with a ginormous grain of salt.

Nokia has been under Microsoft’s wing for a few months, but the company has already managed to roll out a tablet under its own banner, the N1, which is currently offered in the country.

Then at CES 2015, we saw Microsoft introduce quite an oddity, the Nokia 215. This is a $29 / €24 handset, which aims to provide Internet access to basically anyone out there.

The device comes pre-installed with essential apps like Facebook, Messenger or Twitter.

A Nokia phone appears on the horizon?

Anyhow, Nokia enthusiasts have been hoping their favorite Finnish company will be taking up the making of phones yet again, in the real sense of the word.

And today’s news gives them a glimpse of hope towards that scenario. Apparently, Chinese device maker Meizu has taken up a partnership with Nokia in order to launch an international version of the Meizu MX4 flagship, which will be dubbed “Supreme.”

We know it all sounds quite unbelievable, but according to Meizu News, Nokia will be responsible for bringing the Supreme on the international market.

The phone is believed to maintain its initial hardware, but Nokia will probably treat it with a makeover.

For example, we could get to see a Nokia-developed ROM onboard plus a bumped-up camera taking advantage of the company’s own algorithms and optimizations.

The current Meizu MX4 enjoys a 5.36-inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1152 pixel resolution and 418 ppi.

The handset boasts a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM, although the international version could switch to Qualcomm Snapdragon.

The rumor seems very unlikely, so don’t get your hopes up.
