Mac OS X 10.5.3 widely believed to launch around Apple's WWDC '08

Testing on the latest maintenance update for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users continues with Apple demanding eagle-eyed developers to focus on a total of eleven areas in what is Mac OS X 10.5.3 Build 9D34. Apple previously stated that stability issues were delaying the release of the latest Leopard installment. One of them has already been dealt with, according to the seed notes for this build.

Last Monday, Apple was reportedly seeding another Mac OS X 10.5.3 build to its developer community, build 9D27. The build, accompanied by documentation, listed no known issues and asked code-savvy folks devoting their time to squash Mac OS X bugs to continue their focus on a list of 12 core system components, according to people familiar with the distribution, AppleInsider was reporting. Issues fixed in 9D27 were revealed in the respective seed notes as follows:

- Fixed 802.1X Login Window authentication issue - Fixed Network pref pane issue with 802.1X - Fixed problem with iSyncSession and Sync Services Engine - Issue with NSAnimation resolved

Available via Macworld, seed notes for Mac OS X 10.5 build 9D34 reveal that Apple has managed to fix only one issue affecting kernel performance, while there are no known issues in this build.
