Driver kind enough to let NZ resident take pictures

The Google Street View cars are racing across New Zealand, according to several eyewitnesses. Some more compromising pictures, people entering adult book stores or upskirts from ladies entering cars are not singular items to be shown so far. I guess the weird collector's gallery is going to become richer with the addition of a new country.

The New Zealand run is interesting now, because it is the first time somebody actually talked to a driver and was able to take photos. Bevan Rudge, the happy camper to sit next to the Google car until the driver showed up, described on his blog the way it all went: apparently the cars are driven by people who know nothing about the technology, just how to switch it on and then off, no tech support in the back of the car, no mobile lab to take care of the problem if it happened to occur.

The cars have been spotted in Dunedin, the capital Wellington, in Auckland and Hamilton and they raise hell everywhere with people waiting for them in order to get immortalized by the 360 camera on the pole on top of the car.

What you see in the picture wasn't explained by the driver, because he really didn't know anything about it, but it sure looks fancy enough. I'm thinking more about watching movies on that, while my better half is driving, but I don't think Google allows that kind of action going on. It doesn't look like something too complicated, but in case you've seen a picture of the whole car (and if you didn't, here's your chance) you've got to admit that it will probably tie your ears in a knot if you tried, unwarned and without any prior training, to understand it all.
