Remember Onda? If you don't, I should probably tell you they did a pretty good job last time they have rolled out a portable media player. And this time, it's even better. The brand new addition in the portfolio was nicely dubbed VX848.

The player features a simple, yet classic and sophisticated ultra-thin design line, which should make the same impression as a Porsche Targa among futuristic cars. And for some people, the old classy way is simply irresistible. On the outside, it does reveal an intuitive and easy to use control scheme, quite common on the market.

The buttons are four-way ones, with the only slight difference that they've somehow managed to do it on an oval-shape. Judging by its old classy look, it's almost unbelievable they actually integrated in this thing the ultimate technology in the PMP industry.

To mention just a few tricks they did with this unusually alluring PMP, I should probably start with the built-in 2.4 inch QVGA screen. When it comes to the player's capabilities, the device is said to be fully compatible with a bunch of popular file formats on the market, such as MPEG-4(AVI) for movie files, as well as MP3, WMA, WAV for the audio content. Extra specs include a dull FM tuner, while the file transfer is done via USB 2.0 interface.

Moreover, the player allows some audio recording, in case you might need it someday. And yes, it can also display JPEGs, so no more family photos in the wallet. Besides that, whenever needed, the portable media player can double as an e-book reader. In addition, it enables support for lots of games. It should work great on WIN998SE/ME, WIN2000 and WIN XP.

As for the pricing and availability details, there is no official word on that yet. Still, what do you think? Does it look better than the former VX989 PMP? Hell, yeah!
