The Ethernet ports may end up a bit substandard if the idea ever gets off the ground

It appears that Securifi wants to make a name for itself on the wireless router market, although its product concept may leave people feeling ambivalent about it.

Sure, the black frame has an interesting shape, and the Wi-Fi support probably won't leave people wanting, but the LAN connectors may disappoint.

While most PCs nowadays get Gigabit Ethernet, the “Almond” router, as the concept is called, has two Ethernet connectors of just 100 Mbps.

On the bright side, the MIMO technology allows for wireless transmissions of up to 300 Mbps and a range of up to 25 meters.

What's more, up to 50 clients can be connected to it at once.

Finally, onlookers will spot a 2.8-inch touchscreen of 320 x 240 pixels, for using the router's configuration program (can be configured without the need of a PC and web browser).

It even has “safe” pre-configured settings for people that aren't exactly experts in such things.

Alas, no pricing or availability details exist. Indeed, it isn't even clear that the concept will get past the idea stage, good-looking as it is.
