O’Neal says Farrah Fawcett is doing better after seeing bits of “Farrah’s Story”

“Farrah’s Story,” the 2-hour-long NBC documentary detailing the former “Charlie’s Angels” star’s long battle with cancer, aired on May 15, with no less than 9 million viewers tuning in to the program to see her inspirational story. They were not the only ones to be inspired, as Farrah herself is said to be doing better now, which has prompted producers to start work on a followup, EW says.

According to longtime partner and, in recent months, collaborator for the show Ryan O’Neal, Farrah was also shown bits and pieces of the documentary that just aired and, to everyone’s surprise, felt considerably better afterwards. In fact, the actress felt so good that they have decided to continue with the “Story” by adding yet another chapter to it, one that would use footage they discarded the first time around and what they’re shooting right now, as O’Neal revealed on the Today show.

“We haven’t stopped filming and we’re going to make a second installment on her life.” O’Neal said via telephone from his home, as quoted by the aforementioned publication. The reason why they’re not going to stop is that Farrah herself watched the documentary and her condition seemingly improved, which might mean that she was given fresh hope to continue fighting for her life, the actor explained in the same interview.

“When we began watching it Friday night, she had [a] very low pulse.” O’Neal said, adding that the pulse got stronger and stronger as she watched the show, until it became close to normal – or as close as it can be under these circumstances. “It kept going up and up and up. It was wonderful… We’re going to have to show her one of her films every night.” the star concluded by saying.

While fans and supporters of the actress, as well as regular people who simply related to her because of the cancer diagnosis, must be undoubtedly pleased by the announcement, they must bear in mind that specifics regarding it have not yet been made public, such as a release date, a network or the duration. Another thing they should duly considerate is that, should Farrah’s condition be as serious as O’Neal says it is, then the followup will clearly be much harsher and visually impacting than the original, movie-oriented publications are pointing out.
