The second day of the Steam Summer Sale 2014 is upon us, but there are fewer games than anticipated. Even so, users might still find some interesting titles in the daily deals.

The Steam Summer Sale is a great way to expand your Linux library of games. There are over 500 games on Steam for Linux and most of them already have various discounts, but every day a select few get even bigger price discounts.

There are only three games for the Linux platform in the Daily Deals category, but you have to keep in mind that most of titles on Steam have various discounts that will last for the duration of the campaign.

Prison Architect is a game developed by Introversion Software, the same studio that made a few other titles like Darwinia, Multiwinia, Uplink, and Defcon. This game is a prison management sim and it’s practically the only one of its kind.

“Starting with an empty plot of land you must construct a holding cell with basic water and electricity to house your first batch of prisoners, to buy you enough time to create a proper cell block,” reads the steam website. It’s up to the player if he want to build a super-max prison or a comfortable center for rehabilitation.

Prison Architect is still in the development stages, in the Early Access Game program. Users can buy it and play it right now, but it’s not finished or stable. There is no indication when the game will be ready, but the community is having great fun with it and it’s one of the best sold titles on Steam for Linux. The promotion will expire in a little over 24 hours.

Game Dev Tycoon is another Linux title in the Daily Deals section and it comes with a huge 60% discount. Just like Prison Architect, this game is also a simulator, but in this one the users will try to build a gaming studio from the ground up.

“In Game Dev Tycoon you replay the history of the gaming industry by starting your own video game development company in the 80s. Create bestselling games. Research new technologies and invent new game types. Become the leader of the market and gain worldwide fans,” reads the Steam website. The promotion will expire in 24 hours.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is the third and last game on this list. It’s a horror FPS brought to you by the developers of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther and it’s considered to be one of the scariest game ever made.

Enjoy and make sure to check back tomorrow for details about the next offer.
