Sebastian de la Cruz has been called back to sing the National Anthem during the NBA Finals.

The young singer's first performance, before Game 3 of the NBA Finals, has been met with racist slurs and comments about whether or not he is an illegal immigrant.

According to Deseret News, 11-year-old de la Cruz of San Antonio, Texas was welcomed for another rendition of the National Anthem on Thursday night, before Game 4.

"He’s a class act. [...] He makes you feel that the future can be very bright," says San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

He was introduced by San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro and his wife, Erica, and he performed dressed in a traditional costume worn by mariachis in Mexico.

The mayor also supported the singer on Facebook, advising him to ignore the "negative voices."
