14 DAY TRIAL // A few weeks ago, Petra Nemcova called off her engagement to Jamie Belman, whom she'd been dating for 8 months before he proposed. She is now back in the arms of her former flame, actor, director and activist Sean Penn.
For about a month now, reports have been coming in about the two dating again, but it's just now that Page Six gets confirmation from several reliable sources.
“They were spotted together at Thursday night’s star-packed birthday bash for U2 front man Bono at The Spotted Pig in the West Village,” the e-zine writes.
“Sources say Penn and Nemcova were 'very much' together at the party, where guests included Anna Wintour, Graydon Carter, Ed Burns and Christy Turlington-Burns, Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower, Jay-Z, Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky,” PageSix goes on to say.
First linked in the press during the 2008 Oscar season but cooling off shortly afterwards, Sean and Petra were first spotted together again last month, on a night out at Lexington Bar and Books.
“Their reunion happened weeks after Nemcova called off her wedding to Jamie Belman, whom the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model dated for eight months before getting engaged in January,” Page Six says.
“In April, a source told us that Nemcova was 'all over Penn' while they had dinner, and the two left the restaurant together,” adds the same media outlet.
Various sources confirm that there's no denying the two are together again but, for the time being, their publicists remain unavailable for comment.
Precisely one year ago, Sean was still dating Scarlett Johansson. She is believed to have “dumped” him because she didn't want to pursue a higher education at his request.
During their brief affair, which came on the heels of her divorce from Ryan Reynolds, the tabloids had them either on the way to the altar or expecting their first child together.
Recently asked about her former flame, Scarlett played it very swift, saying he was a very good friend whom she would always love and respect – but she refused to go into the details of the split.
