Everyone knows that the Asian market has for sale almost exact replicas of today's best digital cameras under a slightly different name and, although cheaper, these cameras are poorly built in comparison with their original counterparts.

Chinese website Xjrumo spotted two new digital cameras introduced by Seagull, the oldest camera maker in China, at the Shanghai Star Photographic Equipment Exhibition.

At a closer look, it's clear that one of the two Seagull digital cameras displayed by the company is almost identical with Panasonic's Lumix LX7. Moreover, the camera's specs are the same as LX7's, including a lens with a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-90mm and f/1.4-2.3 aperture.

This might also indicate that Panasonic wants to expand its influence on the Chinese market by introducing a low-budget version of its current camera models. Whether this is true or not, the new cameras bear the Seagull logo, although they share the same features and look similar with Panasonic's models.
