The next generation of back up hardware

Seagate Technology announced the launch of a new hardware based data back up and protection solution using the well known and liked Maxtor OneTouch products line. The new Maxtor storage solutions come in the form of simple and robust devices that combines experience with tradition and offer increased protection and security of sensitive data with easy to use and innovative software and hardware technologies. Among the new software tools there are specialized ones to help perform multiple-computer data synchronization, drag-and-drop encryption and a bare metal system restore.

One of the most useful features of the new data protection and back up devices from the Maxtor OneTouch 4 family of products is the ability to perform a full system restore after a hardware failure or software crash. On the outside the new OneTouch sport an industrial appealing look, while the inside high quality components are backed up by a 5 years warranty. All the products from the new Maxtor line come with improved acoustics, optimized convection cooling systems, and an inner disc drive casing and shock mounts for additional drive protection. The new Seagate line for data protection and back up comes in several variants like the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus, Mini and the simple Maxtor OneTouch 4. The Plus model is the top of the line product designed for users looking at an elegant and simple design which is combined with full protective features while offering plenty of storage space. Retail prices are set as following $129.99 for 250GB, $199.99 for 500GB, $289.99 for 750GB and $359.99 for 1TB, with the mention that the 1TB drive will only be available starting in October. The next in line product, the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini, is the miniaturized version of the previous model as it offers the same high quality of services while being packed in a more compact and smaller form in order to be fully portable. The Mini line of products is the first ever such line to be shipped with fully functional software tools and its suggested by the manufacturing company retail prices are in the range of $99.99 for a 80GB storage system and go as high as $149.99 for the 160GB variant.

The last Seagate product designed for data protection and back up is the most simple and basic Maxtor OneTouch 4, especially designed for customers needing only the most basic and easy to use back up functions. Offering a high functionality for the home or small office users, the Maxtor OneTouch 4 drive makes it easier to set up and manage data backup, file archiving and system settings with a new easy-to-use user interface. Seagate suggests a pricing range between $99.99 for 250GB of storage space and $269.99 for a drive of 750GB.
