Yesterday, scientists with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory announced that they had figured out a way to produce supergreen hydrogen fuel and rid the atmosphere of CO2 at the same time.

The technique pieced together by these researchers allegedly works by removing and storing atmospheric CO2 while rolling out carbon-negative hydrogen.

The method is said to also lead to the production of an alkaline solution that could be used to fight back ocean acidification.

“We not only found a way to remove and store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while producing valuable H2, we also suggest that we can help save marine ecosystems with this new technique,” specialist Greg Rau says.

It'll probably be a while before this technique can be used outside a laboratory and on a slightly larger scale, but the scientists who worked on developing it promise to continue their experiments and soon bring us some more good news.
