People are always interested in finding photos of their favorite female celebrities without any make-up on, in the guilty hope of finding something wrong with them that will knock them off their beauty pedestal.

Fashion magazine Vanity Fair comes to address that issue in its latest Hollywood edition, in which two of the most famous actresses, famed for their good looks, agreed to go make-up free and pose for the readers.

Not only are the girls left with little to no make-up, but they are also dressed in regular clothes, both sporting plain sweatshirts and blouses, while gazing into the objective.

Scarlett manages to look years younger as the layers of make-up and lipstick are removed from her face, looking like a teenaged girl. She is aided by her signature full lips and prominent cheekbones that are the envy of many regular women, as well as celebrities.

Meanwhile, Kate also manages to dazzle with her natural features, although it's easy to spot her maternal glow, as she was pregnant at the time this photo was taken.

The photos were taken by Chuck Close, who is known for capturing celebrities in their raw, natural state. Among some of the other big names that he's managed to capture on film are Brad Pitt, Helen Mirren and Oprah Winfrey.

The photographer opens up about his artistic vision, “I don’t do glamour shots, and they’re not airbrushed or whatever. So they can be, um…they can be rough. So I need to talk people through it.”

He admits it's a bit daunting so he praises his subjects, “They have to give up a great deal of vanity in order to do it. And it takes a real act of generosity and faith on the part of the subject to go with it and to give me their image without having any control over what’s gonna happen.”

So now when you feel bad in the morning about your hair, your complexion, your general features, just think of all those glamorous Hollywood stars that have the same issues like us regular mortals do.
