The woman spent some time lying on a giant place in a busy intersection

Faustus might have made a deal with the devil to get what he wanted, but it still seems to me that the things PETA members do to get their way are wackier than this.

On November 1, which happens to be World Vegan Day, a scarcely dressed PETA supporter showed up at the intersection of 14th Street S.W. And Jefferson Drive S.W., Washington.

The woman was covered in barbecue sauce, and spent some time just lying on a giant plate.

To-scale cutlery and even a side salad completed the décor, and the words “Try to Relate to Who's on Your Plate” were emblazoned on the oversized piece of dishware.

As detailed on the organization's official website, the woman was not a nutjob. On the contrary, she was merely trying to raise awareness about the fact that eating animals is a cruel and inhumane practice.

PETA is challenging people to think about what 'meat' really is: the corpse of an abused animal who did not want to die. With all the delicious mock meats and faux dairy products available these days, there's never been a better time to go vegan,” PETA member Katie Arth says.

There is little doubt that the PETA beauty made several heads turn. Whether or not someone will actually quit eating meat after seeing her and learning about the organization's take on what constitutes a human lifestyle remains to be seen.
