Scanbuy, a worldwide leading provider of mobile marketing solutions, announced recently that its ScanLife 2D barcode application would be available as pre-loaded on LG's camera phones. The application is already available on the KF310 on the Spanish market, while more handsets will come with it for other markets as well.

The application makes use of the phone's camera to read all major 2D barcode formats and then connect the users to mobile content and information. They will no longer have to type in long URLs or to seek information through keywords. The ScanLife application is promoted as being geographically and internationally interoperable, which means that it can be used by consumers all around the world.

“We are thrilled to announce this agreement with LGE. Their support will substantially assist in bringing 2D barcode technology to mobile subscribers around the world,” said Jonathan Bulkeley, chief executive officer of Scanbuy. “Mobile data usage is increasing exponentially every day, and the ScanLife solution will make it easier than ever to discover and navigate to content from anywhere.”

Marketers and content providers use the ScanLife Code Management Platform to widen their content and messaging onto mobile devices from media that would include print advertising, packaging, and more. Moreover, individuals are enabled to create free codes from the platform so as to connect to their contact information or social networking websites.

LG Electronics Inc.'s Mobile Communications Company is the world's third largest phone manufacturer, and it managed to ship over 100 million handsets last year, while launching new devices like the Renoir, Secret, and Viewty.

According to Scanbuy, its ScanLife client application and Code Management Platform are present at leading mobile providers and handset manufacturers in the United States, Mexico, France, Spain, and Denmark. More information on the ScanLife can be found on the company's official website or on the application's site.
