14 DAY TRIAL // ASDA and Primark customers are not the only ones targeted by scammers on Facebook. It appears Tesco’s name and reputation is also abused in a scam that’s making the rounds on the social media platform.
A couple of hours ago, the company issued an alert to warn users regarding scams that promised “Free Tesco Shopping Vouchers.”
“Please do not click on ads, links or pages offering 'Free Tesco Shopping Vouchers' that appear to be from Tesco. They are nothing to do with us and may be trying to rip off either you or your information. Please warn your friends,” Tesco representatives warn.
I haven’t spotted such a scam yet, but it’s likely similar to the ones that target ASDA and Primark customers.
Users are urged to like and share the scammers’ pages, after which they’re instructed to complete some surveys. If you come across such posts, the best thing you can do is report them to Facebook.
