RAGE Software have unleashed a new piece of Mac software called iWeb to WordPress. As its name implies, the program facilitates moving your iWeb blog to WordPress.

Those of you owning a blog created with Apple’s iWeb creation tool may have heard that MobileMe is transitioning to iCloud.

Apple gave customers 1 year to decide which domain to switch to. Those who haven’t decided yet should hear whet RAGE Software has to say.

According to the Mac software vendor, “Your iWeb comments are stored on Apple's MobileMe servers. When they discontinue support for MobileMe your blog comments may be lost forever.”

So they entice potential customers to go for their iWeb to WordPress application. With it, “you can preserve your blog comments and even import them into WordPress,” says the company.

It’s easy to use too. Users simply export their blog to a location on their hard drive (using the iWeb application), and then drag and drop their iWeb website onto iWeb to WordPress.

The software will then begin to convert the iWeb blog to a WordPress blog, an operation that takes minutes, according to the developers.

“All of your blog posts and comments will be converted. It will be as if you have used WordPress the whole time!”, says RAGE Software.

They offer two separate versions of the app: one for OS X 10.5 Leopard, which requires an Intel-based Mac; and one for OS X 10.4 Tiger users which works on any Mac (including those based on the PowerPC architecture).

According to RAGE, the only difference between the two versions is speed. Notably, the Leopard version of iWeb to WordPress is faster than the Tiger version.

A YouTube demonstration can be watched below (not that anyone needs any instructions on how to drag and drop a folder onto an app’s interface).

iWeb to WordPress is priced rather steep at $50 (EUR 39.95) though it may well be worthwhile if you care about your blog staying intact when Apple completes the transition to iCloud.

iWeb to Wordpress can be accessed via the link below. A demo version is available.
