14 DAY TRIAL // Following the success of the Angry Birds game, many developers have tried to copy the magic recipe and started to focus in particular on this kind of physics games. Cazual Games is one of the many developers who are still trying to find success with their apps. Toy Balls! 1.0 for iOS is the new game launched by the Greek developer.
Taking advantage of the multitouch function of their iOS device, players have to swipe three or more adjacent toy balls of the same kind, as an endless supply of eight different kinds of balls flow through wooden puzzle boards.
“Toy Balls! is a totally new game concept that entertains the user from the very start of the game play," said Pericles Papageorgiou, dead of Cazual Games.
“The casual nature of the game is perfect for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users seeking a quick hit of fun and action. We are confident it will be even more successful than our previous game, the best-selling Kodix code breaking game,” added Papageorgiu.
The main goal of the game is to swipe matches, removing them from the board, as well as scoring points depending on the number of balls. Things get more challenging as the puzzle board overflows and balls are destroyed by an electro-zapper.
The reason Toy Balls! has been tagged as a physics game is the fact that even though all the balls are the same size, they vary in weight and elasticity. This leads to a high level of unpredictability, as the balls are falling and collide between them.
The game includes a wide range of different balls including: baseball, marble, wood, solid rubber, hollow rubber, eight-ball, dimpled rubber and glass.
“Toy Balls! implements the actual physics of toy balls types like baseball, marble, wood, solid rubber, hollow rubber, eight-ball, dimpled rubber, glass, etc., with simple and accurate game controls to navigate around the playing field,” said Emilios Tsekouras, head of development for Cazual Games.
“The game is fully optimized for each type of device and takes full advantage of the Retina display,” added Tsekouras.
Toy Balls! is compatible with all iPhone, iPad and iPod devices running iOS 3.0 or later and requires 30.9 MB storage space.
The game is available for download from Apple App Store for $0.99 (iPhone, iPod touch) and $1.99 (iPad).
