Sarah Jessica Parker is one of those movie stars who always seem to hold a card up their sleeve and who always manage to surprise you in one way or another, either by their actions or statements. It's hard to imagine that the actress who became famous for playing a shoe-addicted fashionista who often dons slightly controversial, ultra-glamorous outfits and is never seen without her trusted stiletto heels is actually about as make-up savvy as a clueless teenager. However, if we are to trust what Parker herself stated in a recent interview, it would seem that the actress is no Carrie Bradshaw. In fact, she confessed herself clueless when it comes to putting on make-up by herself and doing her hair.

"I can't even blow dry my own hair and I don't know how to put on make-up either. I'll admit I do know how to cover a zit (spot) and put on mascara and eyeliner but I can only put my hair into a ponytail", Parker stated. It's admirable to see her talking so candidly about something that might even be perceived as damaging to her public image - and we could all probably think of one or two celebrities out there who, given the chance to portray a fashionista on-screen, would try to pass themselves as fashion know-it-all in the real world as well.

On the other hand, we have to admit that very often, our imagination loves to play little tricks on us and makes it hard for us to distinguish between the character (that is, Carrie) and the real-life actress (that is, Sarah Jessica Parker). And since Carrie Bradshaw with no make-up on and her hair hanging loosely in a pony tail is just about as unconceivable as Carrie Bradshaw wearing flats, we might begin to understand just how fused Sarah and her on-screen alter ego have become in our minds. As a result, it's good to learn from time to time that the two women couldn't be more different on some accounts. It makes for a very nice and refreshing change.
