Comes as a cheaper alternative to the Pure Platinum A75

Sapphire has lately put a lot on interest in its motherboard business and released an impressive number of solutions for Intel as well as AMD processors, the latest board to arrive from this maker being the Pure Platinum A75P.

The motherboard was designed to support AMD A-Series Llano APUs and is meant to come as a cheaper alternative to the fully-fledged Pure Platinum A75, launched earlier this year.

Just as its name implies, the board is based on the A75 chipset and above it Sapphire has placed a pair of PCI Express x16 expansion slots, three PCI-E x1 slots, as well as two regular 32-bit PCI slots.

Only one of the two PCI Express x16 slots can work at its rated speed as the second one is only linked to the A75 FCH and is limited at supporting x4 speeds.

Storage is provided by six SATA 6Gbps ports, which are all driven by the AMD chipset, so eSATA connectivity is sadly lacking.

Taking a look at the rear I/O panel, reveals a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit LAN connector, a PS/2 port, a number of USB 2.0 ports, D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI 1.4a video outputs as well as 8-channel HD audio with S/PDIF out.

Two additional USB 3.0 ports are available through an on-board pin header, which is located between the BIOS debug display and the on-board Power, Reset and Clear CMOS buttons.

CPU power is provided by an 8-phase VRM, and another two phases are used for the DDR3 memory, a similar arrangement to the one found in the Pure Platinum A75.

Sapphire hasn't revealed any information regarding the release date of the Pure Platinum A75P motherboard. Pricing also hasn't been mentioned. (via TechPowerUp)
