An upgrade for Sanyo Katana II

Sanyo brings another phone model to their Katana line of devices. Still, after the recent release of the Katana II phone, this new one manages to bring even more performances than previous models.

Sanyo Katana DLX is a 15 mm thin clamshell which manages to position itself on the market of mid-ranged devices towards the upper level. Even at this size, the phone model proves to be thicker and heavier than its predecessors. The reason for this change might be that of now packing more evolved capabilities.

The internal display screen on this phone model is a 2 inch one, quite large for a clamshell. Moreover, it is capable of supporting up to 262k colors and has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Together with an evolved camera, this handset might have managed to offer its user quite evolved performances.

Still, Sanyo Katana DLX packs an only 1.3 megapixel camera which is capable of providing only average quality images. Even that sounds good, when compared to the VGA camera that Sanyo Katana II used to pack.

The phone will be released at Sprint, which means that it will also support services coming from this company, such as Sprint Music Store, Sprint TV and Sprint Navigation. This will be possible due to the high-speed EV-DO data that the phone brings, just as older versions from this line of handsets do too.

Other specifications also include support for a large number of media files, including MP3 and AAC. Moreover, this clamshell is also capable of Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and has an A2DP stereo headset profile also seen in more evolved devices from this producer.

Sanyo Katana DLX will be released in the coming weeks for all Sprint users. It will be available in three mild and shiny colors: Platinum Ice, Pink Satin and Champagne.
