New addition to SanDisk's portfolio. The company has recently announced a brand new Sansa View player. The sleek video mp3 player comes packed with no less than 16GB storage capacity.

Sansa View is said to be a tremendous success mostly because its manufacturers managed to mix some MP3 attributes with a full-motion video support, which is common to larger devices, such as portable media players.

As the company's representatives say, the player reveals the significant step forward the company has made since the previous e200 music player. It is capable of playing music, photos, FM radio and audio books, not to mention the video transferring capabilities, and hefty memory capabilities of up to 24GB. The high capacity storage is possible with the integrated 8GB microSD/microSDHC cards slot.

According to Sandisk: "The Sansa View is a new video MP3 player that combines all of the great characteristics of a MP3 player with the video capabilities of a PMP, and packs it into a pocketable device," said Eric Bone, vice president of marketing for SanDisk's Sansa audio/video product line. "What's more, we're once again showing that category-leading technology can still be very affordable."

The SanDisk Sansa View player features a smooth, back lit scroll wheel and a vibrant easy to navigate 2.4-inch wide screen display with a 320 x 240 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for 35 hours of audio and video content.

Besides that, there is an integrated music library, a video collection, options to customize a photo album, a digital FM radio with 20 pre-sets and a tiny built-in microphone, which can be used for voice recordings. Not to mention whenever you fell like reading a good book, it doubles as an eBook reader for all sorts of audiobooks.

Among other capabilities, the player features a video compatibility with MPEG-4, WMW and H.264 formats, with the additional DivX format. But, its photo capabilities are not bad either, since it can read JPEG files and has a built-in 16 megapixel camera.

If you really want one of these, you should know that the 8GB features a 150 bucks price tag, while the 16 GB can be purchased for about 200 bucks a pop!
