Later this year, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics will unveil to the world its next handset in the popular Galaxy Note series of smartphones, and some more info on the device has emerged online.

According to a recent report coming from Korea Times (via SamMobile), the phone has been confirmed to become official in September, during the IFA 2014 show in Berlin, and will be called Galaxy Note 4.

The info reportedly comes from a senior executive at one of Samsung's top local suppliers, who has also said that the handset vendor is planning the release of multiple flavors of the handset.

To be more precise, said executive is cited claiming that Samsung intends to release one Galaxy Note 4 flavor with a curved OLED display for niche markets, while also working on a different device iteration with a flat OLED display, destined for the mass market.

For the time being, Samsung hasn’t provided an official statement on the matter, but that does not come as a surprise, since the company doesn’t usually comment on developing products.

Previous reports on Galaxy Note 4, however, did unveil that the phone would be released with model number N910 attached, and that it would feature different processor types, depending on the market it was aimed at.

Thus, Samsung is expected to release it with a Snapdragon 805 CPU in North America, Korea, China and Japan, and to pack an Exynos 5433 processor inside it in other countries. This model is also said to include the Intel’s XMM7260 Cat. 6 modem.

Other details leaked on the phone so far include the fact that it will sport a Quad HD touchscreen display, of unknown size, and that it will pack the same sensors as the Galaxy S5 does today, along with a new UV sensor.

Moreover, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to be released with a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a camera module coming from Sony, which also features Optical Image Stabilization.

On the front, the phone will employ a 2MP camera, which will allow users to easily make video calls while on the go. It is also expected to run under the latest Android OS flavor out there, although no specific info on it has been provided as of now.

As expected, Galaxy Note 4 is already shaping up as a highly appealing Android smartphone, though we’re still roughly two months and a half away from its official unveiling. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
