Samsung has managed to strike a massive partnership with the NBA worth $100 / €73 million, extended throughout three years. This implies the tech giant will be providing all the courtside technology, from now on.

That means we’ll see Samsung supply tablets and TVs used by NBA coaches, players and referees throughout games. The exact number of devices that will end up being provided is still uncertain at the moment.

Samsung is already a sponsor for NBA star LeBron James and the current partnership will be extended to other NBA leagues including The Women’s NBA and the NBA developmental League (D-League).

On top of getting extra exposure during popular broadcast games, Samsung will also stream customized content on its devices. Samsung has replaced HP and China Haier Group by scoring this deal.

Chief Marketing Office for Samsung Telecommunications America Mark Tatum explained why they decided to partner up with the NBA.

“More than ever, NBA fans are connecting with our game across mobile devices, tablets and television and Samsung’s world-renowned products will bring them closer to the game. Samsung’s extraordinary commitment across the NBA, WNBA and NBA D-League will impact our game both on and off the court.”

The NBA will use the devices during key events such as NBA All-Star, the NBA Playoffs, The Finals and the NBA Draft presented by State Farm.
