14 DAY TRIAL // South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is gearing up for the launch of a new member of its already popular Galaxy S family of handsets, namely the Galaxy S Plus, if the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.
Apparently, the company would aim at rising the bar when it comes to the performance levels that its Galaxy S smartphones can offer, thus aiming at packing the new device with a single-core 1.4GHz processor.
In all fairness, the Samsung Galaxy S II, which sports a dual-core application processor, and which was already unveiled to the world, might perform better than this device.
However, this does not mean that the new Galaxy S Plus might not offer the wanted performance levels, and the phone's specs list seems to show that it might actually do so.
The aforementioned high-speed processor would be complemented by 8GB of internal memory, most probably by a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space.
Moreover, the new mobile phone is said to come with a four-inch Super AMOLED display, as well as with a 1650mAh battery inside (the original Galaxy S came with a 1500mAh battery inside). It should also support HD video recording capabilities.
Among the other details that are currently available on the new mobile phone, we can count the fact that it might sport model number I9001. The new mobile phone is also said to be running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
At the same time, the new Samsung Galaxy S Plus is expected to arrive on the market sometime at the end of April in Russia, with a price tag of 23,990 rubles (around $850) attached to it.
All in all, it seems that Samsung is gearing up for the release of an appealing sequel for the Galaxy S, though it remains to be seen how much of the above mentioned specs would pan out.
