South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is gearing up for the release of new devices, and the company has already announced plans to make the move next month, during the new Unpacked event.

The leading handset vendor is usually launching new, high-end devices during such events, and chances are that it might make a similar move in October as well.

Samsung announced that the said event will be held at the CTIA Enterprise and Applications show in San Diego next month, but the company did not offer specific info on what will be unveiled at the time. PhanDroid reports.

The mobile phone maker unveiled new smartphones and tablet PCs only a few weeks ago, at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, and they did manage to impress, that's for sure.

Among the handsets brought to the spotlight at that time, we can count the Galaxy Note smartphone, the largest mobile phone in the world.

For the next month event, Samsung might be preparing the release of a new Nexus device, some of the latest rumors on the matter suggest.

The company was long rumored to plan the release of a so-called Nexus Prime smartphone, the next Google phone, meant to bring to the market the Ice Cream Sandwich OS flavor, and chances are that this device will be the main attraction at the said event.

At the same time, there is the possibility that Samsung will unveil the DROID Prime phone at that time, which is expected to be Verizon's exclusive flavor of Nexus Prime, provided that the two will actually be related.

Of course, there is also a chance that Samsung will bring to the spotlight a new series of Windows Phone devices, but nothing is confirmed on this for the time being.

One way or the other, the Unpacked event that Samsung plans for October is expected to impress, the same as other similar events did, so stay tuned.
