South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is currently pushing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the owners of Galaxy Note 3 smartphones out there, but it seems that many users will experience some issues after installing the software.

A few weeks back, owners of the smartphone started to complain about the fact that some of their third-party accessories had stopped working after the installation of the update, which suggested that changes in the code broke compatibility with them.

Samsung was fast to claim that the issue had nothing to do with the update itself, and that it had nothing against the fact that users want unofficial accessories for their devices.

However, it appears that the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade for the Galaxy Note 3 was indeed causing the aforementioned incompatibility issues, and that Samsung has acknowledged the problem.

Moreover, the handset vendor announced that it was working on a fix for this, and that it would release it in the form of a new software update for the smartphone.

“We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories,” the mobile phone maker confirmed in a statement, ars technica reports.

“A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.”

It’s great news to see that a company is indeed admitting to its errors, not to mention the fact that Samsung has also committed to the delivery of a fix to make amends.

For the time being, however, no specific info on when the new firmware will start arriving on devices has been provided, but users can expect it to land shortly. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
