Last time Samsung spoke of its Series 7 of products, it wasn't so it could launch a new mobile personal computer for gaming purposes, like now.

Instead, it delivered an 11.6-Inch Windows Tablet called, straightforwardly enough, Slate PC Series 7.

The machine that is now revealed to have reached South Korea, or at least to be on the way there, is the Series 7 700G7A gaming laptop.

Then again, as the title says, it might be more appropriate to say Samsung has prepared two notebooks.

One of them has a 'common' 17.3.-inch Full HD LCD (liquid crystal display) while the second one has 3D support.

That said, the brightness of the LCD is 400 nits and the screen has not just the Intel CPU's integrated graphics managing it, but also an AMD discrete graphics processing unit.

To be more specific, the hardware revolves around an Intel Core i7 chip with four cores and Intel GMA HD, while real graphics prowess is given by the AMD Radeon HD 6970M.

8 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) are available, along with all the expected I/O and connectivity capabilities.

That means Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 (most likely) and 2.0, audio, etc.

Other features of the Series 7 700G7A include a backlit keyboard and a dial that switches between three operational modes.

The Balance mode is exactly what it sounds like and is meant for casual use, while the Gaming and Green modes focus on performance optimization and energy efficiency, respectively.

South Korean customers will be able o get their notebooks soon, though they will have to be willing to part with the fairly hefty sums of 2,630,000 won ($2,342 / 1,702 Euro) for the 'standard' one and 2,870,000 won ($2,555 / 1,857 Euro) for the 3D notebook.
