Today, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics made official a new member of the Galaxy S4 family of devices, the first of them to pack a Snapdragon 800 processor, namely the Galaxy S4 LTE-A (SHV-E330S).

Already spotted online a few times before, the new mobile phone went official in South Korea with LTE-Advanced (Long Term Evolution Advanced) connectivity packed inside, promising data transfer speeds of up to 150Mbps.

This is the first smartphone in the world to feature support for LTE-A, and will be released in the country on the network of SK-Telecom, Samsung announced.

Set to become available for purchase in two color flavors, namely Arctic Blue and Aurora Red, the new mobile phone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm, specifically designed for top-of-the-line devices.

The handset also sports 2GB of RAM to complement the powerful processor, as well as 32GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

Furthermore, it comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, the same as the original Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.

On the back, Galaxy S4 LTE-A features a 13-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording, paired with a 2MP camera on the front, to enable video calling while on the go.

At the same time, Samsung packed the mobile phone with all the usual connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, as well as with GPS receiver, DMB for the local market, and the usual set of sensors.

The smartphone runs under Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform with Samsung’s own TouchWiz Nature UX user interface loaded on top, and is powered by a 2600mAh battery.

It also comes with a variety of exclusive applications coming from Samsung, including S Health, WatchON, S Translator, Smart Scroll, and Smart Pause, just as other devices in the Galaxy S4 series did.
