Just to prove once again it is one of the leading mobile manufacturer in Asia, Samsung has just released its new T-DMB phone SGH-B590.

The phone has a clamshell design and, with its 16.5 mm width, it tops all the other DMB phones by being the slimmest. But even if you think this is a good thing, when you'll see the phone's only 2.2'' display, you might reconsider your decision and realize that one of its most important features might be its most important drawback.

The SGH-B590 inherits the well known Samsung flip design, has a 1.3 megapixel camera and a multimedia player. Even though the phone has a landscape screen orientation feature, it doesn't have a swivable screen and so it feels very awkward when using the phone in this mode.

Even with all these unpleasant things, the SGH-B590 is still a big step forward for Samsung, a company that has always proven to be able to learn from its own mistakes, and hopefully will do it again and come out on the market with a phone less flawed.

It seems that after this release, Samsung plans to launch its new E590 phone responding to the increased demand of DMB phones, which might be very soon available only in Korea through SK Telecom.

We just have to wait and see if the new E590 will be the new and improved version of the B590. Both handsets will most likely be available only in Korea, and maybe in some other Asian countries too.
