14 DAY TRIAL // Hugo Boss probably considered that Prada and Armani were getting too much attention these days, what with the release of their mobile phones, and figured that it should also give it a try. Samsung accepted to team up Hugo Boss as well (and why shouldn’t it) and, thus, the F480 came to our attention.
In order to release it in time for the upcoming holidays, the two companies decided to build this phone based on the F480 TouchWiz mobile. Even though some may not appreciate it as much as they would have should it had been built from zero, it still turned out well enough.
In any case, this handset is more of a special edition and should be most appreciated for this than for its actual features, which, in all fairness, are not too bad. The F480 presents as its most appealing features a 2.8'' touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel camera, 3G/HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth and USB support. For this device, the decision was to use Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz as a user interface, but some rumors have it that it may receive a special fashion widget as a surprise as well, to sweeten the offer even more. In order to create a powerful impression, Hugo has branded the device anywhere it was possible, so as to “reflect the Hugo Boss style.”
This Samsung phone comes complete with several other capabilities, but nothing you haven't seen before, so the only aspect noteworthy is the design. In this respect, both companies have done a fantastic job, creating a cleverly lined device, very elegant and stylish, but also giving it a slightly observable, but very appealing air of mystery. Moreover, if we were to look at the custom made Hugo Boss headset alone, we could easily realize that this is, indeed, a specially designed phone.
The F480 is set to be released in December all over Europe, through Hugo Boss retailers. Of course, since it has been branded by such a well-known fashion company, the price will reflect this aspect as well. So, if you're thinking of purchasing it, you should already have some money put aside, for it will set you back about 479 Euros.
