What do women want? Well, they want...gadgets! And since holiday season can often become synonymous with stress, a "therapeutic" shopping spree could be the best thing for a gadget victim. Today, women love buying gadgets more than shoes or jewelery, so, we could say the days when technology was considered a "man's thing" are numbered.

Since it's Christmas is to come, Samsung has decided to conduct a research and find out who's buying more electronic devices, women or men. The result has revealed that this season women are purchasing more gadgets than men. It also shows the women have become somehow addicted to technology and surprise...they even own more gizmos than men.

"I don't think girls are buying into the technological market because they are becoming techno people. These things are becoming more user friendly and they are so much more pretty and girls like pretty things," said Hannah Perry, news editor of Heat magazine, to Sky News Online. And judging by the new trends in the electronic industry, she might have a point.

"A man would walk into a shop and will look and see what they have on offer, what the best deal is, what packages there are, that geeky element. But women will walk in and say that's pretty," she added.

These are the final results of the research:

- 37% of women will be buying gadgets this Christmas, compared to 35% of men - 95% of women believe that gadgets are no longer just toys for boys - 38% of women own games consoles compared to 31% of men

According to Sky News Online, the survey asked 1,766 adults for their view in November. Given the results, perhaps it's time for a female James Bond...
