South Korean mobile phone users should soon have the possibility to try out a new smartphone from their local handset vendor Samsung, in the form of Wave II (SHW-M210S).

The Samsung Wave II (SHW-M210S) is expected to make an appearance in the country on the airwaves of SKT, while running under the company's own mobile operating system, dubbed bada.

According to a recent article on Samsung Hub, there is little doubt that the new device would land on the market in Samsung's homeland, since it was aimed specifically at the South Korean market.

The news site also notes that Samsung was set in the beginning to launch the bada-based Wave (SHW-M120S), but that device was either canceled or delayed, most probably due to the shortage of Super AMOLED.

Even so, it appears that the bada operating system is still expected to arrive on the market in South Korea, and that the said Wave II (SHW-M210S) smartphone would be the one to bring it there.

Since it was aimed specifically at the market in South Korea, the new Wave II mobile phone comes with T-DMB, in addition to other features and capabilities.

At the same time, the bada-based handset is said to pack a 3.7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display, which would be able to deliver a WVGA resolution. T9 Trace text input should also be included into the package.

The mobile phone's specs list also shows a 1GHz Hummingbird application processor inside the device, as well as the fact that it would run under the bada 1.2 OS.

Other specs include support for 3G networks, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with HD video recording capabilities.

Of course, the smartphone comes with other features as well, including support for various services, as well as access to downloadable applications and content.

The Samsung Wave II (SHW-M210S) is expected to land on the South Korean market before the end of the ongoing year, but no specific info on its price tag emerged for the time being.
