T-Mobile's version of Samsung Vibrant

T-Mobile USA and Samsung Mobile announced today the upcoming launch of Samsung Vibrant, the T-Mobile-bound version of the Android-based Galaxy S. According to the wireless carrier, the upcoming handset it expected to hit the shelves on July 21, though it should be put on pre-order come July 1. The price tag for the device has been set at $199 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier. T-Mobile customers interested in purchasing the new handset should find it available for pre-order at RadioShack too.

The new Samsung Vibrant is expected to land on the market with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor, six-axis sensor, support for T-Mobile’s super-fast HSPA+ network, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with digital zoom, auto focus, and high-definition (720p) video recording, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver with support for turn-by-turn navigation, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

We should also mention that the new device is set to arrive on shelves with a 2GB external memory card included in the package, on which users would find “James Cameron’s Avatar.” Moreover, those who would choose to purchase the new device should also be able to enjoy access to more than 600,000 books using the Amazon Kindle for Android application, or to live and on-demand TV via MobiTV. Running under Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the new mobile phone provides fast access to a wide range of applications through the Android Market. Further customizations would be possible via two battery cover options in dark blue and lavender, exclusively delivered to T-Mobile's customers.
