Samsung's NX series of pocket DSLRs has really managed to make a name for itself back in 2010, and in order to offer photographers more creative options, the Korean company has just announced a couple of interesting additions to its 2011 NX Series Lens lineup.

So, for 2011, Samsung has prepared no less than 5 new NX lenses (that join the 5 models already available on the market), all of which are fully compatible with the company's i-Function system, that manages to bring a complete level of control over the camera's functions right at the photographer's fingertips.

The first new lens model included in Samsung's lineup is the 18-200mm multi-purpose Long Zoom Lens, that touts a silent auto-focusing system, as well as an enhanced Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system.

Next in line comes a pancake lens (16mm F2.4 Ultra Wide Pancake Lens), providing improved low-light capabilities and a shallower DOF due to its bright aperture.

The 2011 lens lineup also includes a 60mm Macro Lens with Super Sonic Actuator (SSA), advanced OIS system, as well as an advanced full-time manual focus system, for enhanced creative control.

Samsung has also developed the 85mm F1.4 CSC lens, targeting the pro segment, that packs a SSA system and full manual focus, as well as a higher level of brightness (F1.4).

Last, but certainly not least, comes Samsung’s 16-80mm Advanced Standard Zoom Lens, that has been specifically optimized in order to allow users to attain very good results both when taking photos and recording movies (so it also packs a silent auto-focus system and OIS), while also including a wide array of VCM modes.

Unfortunately, pricing details for the new lenses from Samsung have not been provided just yet, but it seems that they'll be hitting the shelves in a gradual manner, from May until December.
