It looks like the Samsung U740 might be heading on to Verizon stores soon. So Verizon customers that are awaiting this phone should be happy to know that the phone's official release might be only a few days or weeks away.

This comes as no surprise and the phone was meant to go to Verizon from the moment it was presented by Samsung, but now the moment of an official release is getting closer.

The main feature of this phone is its design. Viewing pictures in landscape mode won't be a problem with this phone with a dual-pivot design and the QWERTY keyboard it comes equipped with will turn this phone into a pretty nice and convenient messaging device.

The phone can work as a normal flip phone or flip open in landscape mode, depending on which layout you prefer to use.

Although not a smartphone, it does feature support for Verizon's V CAST service, Bluetooth with A2DP support, EV-DO for high speed data transfer and music capabilities. The music can be easily controlled with the help of the touch-sensitive music controls on the clamshell, and a large number of files can be stored due to a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion.

The Samsung U740 also features a 262k color screen with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and a 1.3 megapixel camera that you can use both for snapshots and for recording video.

Aside from that, the only thing to do is to wait for it to be released on Verizon. No information on the pricing of this phone is available at this time, but an official release will probably answer all the questions.
