A slightly different model that the one for Canada

The previous model of the Samsung Cleo, which was available just in pink, and probably did not appeal to clients other than women, has been on sale only at Bell Canada. Now, the FCC has announced a new model, the U440, coming to America via Verizon Wireless, in a more attractive shade of red.

The U440 is, in fact, the same messaging device you heard was going to Canada, but it has been personalized for American clients. Although girls were probably pretty happy to see the old Cleo, for it was, and we might as well say it, useful to them for reasons other than its technical capabilities, such as helping them freshen up their makeup, the new U440 doesn't look like a girls-only phone.

In any case, this handset could have featured much more advanced technologies, but I guess we'll have to settle for the following: Bluetooth with A2DP, music player, a storage memory of up to 8GB, a 1.3 megapixel camera and a full QWERTY keyboard.

As for the design, it's basically the same as the one distributed by Bell Canada, a square-like display and the shaped as a C clamshell. This is a phone that is easy on the eyes, being well designed and, as already noted above as the best change, coming with a more attractive red look instead of the ever boring pink one.

There are no details available on the date of the release, but those that are interested should rest assured that Verizon won't keep them waiting for too long, especially since the most profitable season of the year is almost here, the winter holidays. The price should not be terribly high either, as the phone is likely to be affordable for everyone.
