14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung didn't really have anything interesting to show us in terms of smartphones of CES 2015, but as it turns out, that’s not exactly how it is.
The Korean tech giant put on display a futuristic handset with a transparent display, but before you start drooling imagining what it would be like to own such a device, we’ll tell you this piece of tech has been developed especially for “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” flick which will be released this summer (as seen at the Business Insider).
Samsung provides tech for Hollywood blockbusters
So in a few months you should expect to see a bunch of Samsung gear make an appearance along Hollywood sweethearts such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson in the sequel.
And in order to give you a sneak peek at what you should be expecting, Samsung showed off a line of electronics that will be starring in the movie.
The see-through phone will be used by Tony Stark / Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) but as you can see, the real-life handset looks like a regular piece of rectangular glass (it’s a glass prop, after all). However, it makes sense to assume that in the movie the handset will be given a futuristic UI to work with.
The see-through phone is Galaxy Note Edge-inspired
Samsung says that the design of the super-thin phone has been inspired by their Galaxy Note Edge handset, which is the weirdest smartphone in Sammy’s portfolio so far.
It goes on to explain that the phone features two different curved panels and takes advantage of a hologram glass user interface with finger print security, so that the information contained onboard is safe no matter what.
Apart from the handset, Samsung also showcased a bunch of “mundane” gear such as smartwatches and Bluetooth headsets which will be worn by the cast of the movie throughout the film.
Hopefully, this fancy gadgetry will help the heroes in the next Avengers flick in their battle against the evil Ultron and his army of malicious spawns.
