Finally, users will be able to tweak the TouchWiz interface

This week at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Samsung didn’t have anything new to show in terms of mobile devices. Even so, the rumor mill continues its endless chatter revealing some of the plans the Korean tech giant might have in store.

Samsung has been known to use its self-developed TouchWiz interface on phones and tablets. But the UI has been vastly criticized by users and reviewers alike over the years, mostly for its corny appearance and not so flowing effects.

To this day, users of Galaxy phones and tablets are prevented from changing anything about the interface, but this aspect might soon change.

Theme support is coming to the Samsung Galaxy environment

According to a new report coming from Sam Mobile, the newly launched Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are the first phones to come with a new feature which adds support for themes.

This possibility of changing things about the UI has been offered by several other manufacturers, with Sony the best known example.

Well, it appears Samsung is looking to make themes support a priority on all of its upcoming devices, including the much-anticipated flagship Galaxy S6 device.

According to the report, the theme feat will be similar to the one spotted on the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 and will apparently be called Themes Center or something of the sort.

The Center will be home to a host of new features including changing system sounds, fonts and Events. At this point we’re unsure what Events actually entails, but one possibility could entail being able to choose a different theme for particular events, like picking up a certain theme for your kid’s birthday and one for your mother’s.

Another novelty incoming for future devices will be the Themes store. We can’t say whether the store will offer third-party themes or if users will have to pick from a set of pre-installed themes. Time will tell.
