Further examination has revealed the smallest tablet doesn’t have a Pentile screen

I previously reported that Samsung has seemingly equipped its new tablets with Pentile RGB screens, while the Samsung TabPRO will be carrying a less-impressive Pentile RGBW variation.

But new surfaced information coming from the way of PhoneArena shows that’s actually not the case and proves the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is the only one of the four tablets to come without an alternative Pentile pixel matrix.

You probably know by now that all the four new Sammy slates feature displays with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, so the fact that the smallest in the bunch steps away from the standard RGB matrix is pretty impressive. Add to that the amazing 360ppi, and you pretty much get a 2K display in terms of sharpness.

As for the other three tablets, they manage to achieve the resolution by using an alternative pixel matrix arrangement that appears extremely like a chess matrix when you examine the colors in detail.

Granted, the overall viewing experience doesn't change much, but you’d certainly feel better knowing you own a 2K tablet, wouldn't you?
