That's less than Galaxy S5 sales in the same timeframe

Samsung was pretty happy with the amount of pre-orders its flagship smartphones received in the weeks ahead of their release.

The South Korean company was hoping that its Galaxy S6 will sell much, much better than any of its previous flagships.

Unfortunately, things look pretty bleak for Samsung if we are to take into consideration the latest statements coming from the company's official.

The South Korean media claims a high-ranking Samsung official stated that “the sales of the Galaxy S6 series have already surpassed 10 million.”

Considering both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge made their debut on the market on April 10, this means that Samsung has shipped 10 million units in about a month.

Sadly, Samsung's official did not say when the sales exceeded the 10 million units mark, so we can't say for sure whether or not the company sold that amount in less than a month.

However, we do know Samsung shipped more than Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 units within one month from their launch on the market.

Researchers estimate Samsung will ship 70 million Galaxy S6 units in 2015

Even so, analysts estimate that Samsung might sell more than 50 million Galaxy S6 series units by the end of the year. As a matter of fact, the more optimist analysts see Samsung shipping no less than 70 million units in 2015.

Either way, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge might not improve Samsung's revenues the way the South Korean company had hoped.

Still, Samsung has one more ace under its sleeve, which is called Galaxy Note 5. The upcoming phablet has the potential of being more popular than Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

The official sales numbers for Samsung Galaxy S6 series should be announced in the coming months, so until then we are left with these “confirmed” figures that might or might not be accurate.
