It the midst of the battle between the notebook makers, each one of them trying to get its hands on the biggest piece of market share, profits and, of course, success, Samsung rolls out a notebook that is said to target the gamers. Well, if you take a close look at the features, you will raise your eyebrows because this notebook has some lacks, but I'll let you identify them.

Samsung's latest Sens R40 sports a 15.4-inch widescreen LCD display, no word about the resolution, maybe just in Japanese, and its graphics is signed by ATI Radeon Xpress 200M. The notebook is powered by an Intel Core Duo processor; it has an 80GB hard disk storage and not a great 512MB. The good news now - Sens comes with a DVD burner, Atheros Super G WLAN, hot keys for multimedia content, and 4w stereo speakers. And that's about it. What do you think?

The Sens will be soon available at a suggested retail price of $1471.

On the other hand, we have Sony's latest notebook that hides under its showcase an entire home theatre system -VAIO FJ, a unit which comes in four color versions - Coal Black, Snow White, Sky Blue and Raspberry Red.

The latest VAIO FJ provides support for most of the enhanced applications available, as it is powered by an Intel Centrino mobile technology processor, Serial ATA hard drive and DDR2 memory. The notebook has a special 14.1" widescreen display which features Sony's advanced Clear Bright LCD technology built to provide all the details of an image and almost perfect colors.

But the best part of Sony's latest development is the fact that VAIO FJ can be used also as a portable home theatre system, as it comes with an enhanced display, powerful built-in Bass Reflex Speakers and DVD?RW(supporting DVD?R DL) (applicable for VAIO-FJ78GP) and CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive (applicable for VAIO-FJ77GP).

But the manufacturer developed a special technology meant for the multimedia software applications - the SonicStage, which will give a helping hand when you want to burn the movies utilizing a VAIO-FJ78GP burner for example.

The notebooks are already available at a similar price as Samsung's latest Sens.
